Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) is an important technology to reduce greenhouse gases and help the State, Nation, and the World meet our climate goals. This presentation will provide an overview of CCUS, past, current, and future work in Michigan, and explore the challenges and benefits associated with CCUS. Presentation by Dr. Autumn Haagsma, Director of the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education and Assistant Director of the Michigan Geological Survey, which is part of Western Michigan University. Dr. Haagsma has led CCUS research for more than a decade including understanding the technical, environmental, and societal challenges.
