The world is facing an existential threat to human civilization.
Heat trapped on the planet by greenhouse gases is altering all aspects of global climate. Our climate is a common resource on which all life depends, so collective action is our shared responsibility and the only path toward community resilience and adaptation to a future climate that will sustain this life.
The Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition, formed in 2019, attempts to mobilize collective action to achieve immediate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and rapid adoption of renewable energy through a transition that is grounded in social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. KCCC is a coalition of over 40 local educational, religious, commercial, and other non-profit organizations who collectively have a larger voice in the community to inspire action for urgent and just climate resiliency.
